Rescue Food, Reduce Waste
Background
Growing up around my father's restaurant and understanding the demand for affordable meals among friends, I created EcoEats. This platform connects consumers to discounted, perfectly good food while helping sellers reduce waste and increase revenue.
Can we find a way to sell soon-to-expire items, benefiting the environment and making a profit at the same time?
With the yearly increase in food waste, the current trend highlights the importance of redistributing and recycling surplus food to reduce wastage.

Persona & User Journey
29-year-old designer Emma
Suburban area near NYC
“
As a suburbanite, having the time to cook feels like a rare treat! Dining out is an unavoidable expense for socializing insiders. I'm looking for trendy solutions 🌱
Scenario
Emma commutes from Yonkers to Manhattan. She needs to wake up at 5:30 AM in order to have breakfast, and dinner is only possible at 8 PM after cooking. With many social engagements and buying lunch at work, food expenses are a constant concern. As a designer, Emma is environmentally conscious and enjoys shopping for ESG products using upcycling. Is there a trendy way to contribute to the environment and reduce dining-out expenses?
Pain Points
The existing service, LastOrder, makes it inconvenient to explore the food Emma wants.
She doesn't have enough time to cook.
Dining out costs are significant.
Needs
Finding the products Emma wants is easy, and the search results are relevant.

30-year-old bakery cafe owner Grace
San Francisco
“
Is there a way to turn discarded bread due to unpredictable sales into sales opportunities?
Scenario
Grace runs a bakery cafe and faces challenges managing inventory and unpredictable weekday sales. This results in problems like running out of products too early, affecting sales, and wasting food. Additionally, being a bakery cafe that uses many dairy products, concerns about food waste are heightened due to the perishable nature of ingredients.
Pain Points
Unpredictable weekday sales and the constant worry of product shortages or food wastage.
Feeling wasteful discarding products that could be sold the next day, but concerns about complaints hinder any action.
Needs
Sell surplus bread nearing expiration on the same day to maximize sales.
Reduce weekday food waste with a focus on local customers.
